Method 1. Organization can do combined PF ESI registration from Shram Suvidha Portal. First create an ID Password on Shram Suvidha Portal and after login go for common registration of PF and ESI. Fill the required details of Form and submit the form through Digital Signature. Department will issue EPF Code and ESI Code after verifying the details within 24hrs.

Method 2. Steps For EPF Registration for Employers

Step 1- Register the organization with EPFO

Visit the website and register the organization with EPFO. On the home page of the Unified portal, there is an option called “ESTABLISHMENT REGISTRATION”.

Step 2: Register DSC

Employers who are already registered can log in with their credentials, ie Universal Account Number [UAN] and password. This instruction manual will explain the employer registration process which must be followed by the DSC [Digital Signature Certificate] registration of the employer. Registering DSC is a prerequisite for submitting a new ERF registration application.

Step 3: Fill in the employer details

Check “I have read the instruction manual” completely. Click on “REGISTER BUTTON” below. This will take you to the new page where you need to fill in all the employer details. The fields marked with the red star (asterisk) are required.

Step 4: Fill in the details correctly

  • Name: First, middle and last name must be entered exactly as provided to the Income Tax Department. Any variation in the name of the Income Tax Department will result in rejection as the data is verified online.
  • Employer PAN: After entering the employer PAN, a message will appear showing that the employer is not previously registered. PAN will also be verified as a name and an online application will be allowed.

List of required documents for PF Registeration: -

  • Digital signature of the owner / partner / director
  • Owner / Partner / Director Aadhar Card
  • Owner / partner / director PAN card
  • Cancelled check / bank statement from the entity
  • Entity PAN card
  • Electricity bill from the registered office (no more than 2 months)
  • Store and Establishment Certificate / Government Issued GST Certificate / License for Factory

ESI Registration Procedure: Steps Involved

1. Once the documents are ready, the company can request registration by submitting the Employer Registration Form (Form-1).

2. A PDF format of the form is available on the website. Complete the form and send it to ESIC for registration on the official website.

3. Once verified, the organization will be provided with a registration number, a unique 17-digit identity. ESI submissions can be made once you receive the 17-digit number.

4. Employees registered under the scheme obtain an ESI card after submitting a form with photos and details of family members.

5. Although the registration is permanent and the number is valid for the entire life of the company, any new changes, such as the incorporation of employees, must be reported to the ESI.

Required documents

The following documents are required to register under the ESI scheme:

1. A certificate of registration or a license obtained under the Law on Establishments and Shops or the Law on Factories.

2. Certificate of registration (Deed of incorporation and bylaws in case of limited partnership, partnership deed for LLP, etc.)

3. Certificate of registration of all entities and start of factory production;

4. A list of employees with their monthly compensation, in detail;

5. A list of directors, partners and shareholders of the company;

6. The business PAN card and proof of address of the establishment / company;

7. Bank statements of the organization, with proof of start of operation.
