How to make
TDS Payment?

TDS or Tax Deduction at Source is a system by which income tax is deducted at the time of making some payments such as rent, interest, commissions, etc. The person making such specified payments is responsible for deducting the TDS and paying the balance to the person entitled to receive such payment.

The amount of TDS deducted must be deposited with the government within the due dates. TDS payment can be made online.

Step 1: Go to the NSDL website for electronic tax payment

Step 2: Select “CHALLAN NO/ITNS 281” in the TDS / TCS section. You will be directed to the electronic payment page. 

Step 3: The following details must be entered on this page.

Step 4: On submission, a confirmation screen will be displayed. If TAN is valid, the full name of the taxpayer according to the master will be displayed on the confirmation screen.

Step 5: On confirmation of the details entered, you will be directed to your bank’s web banking site.

Step 6: The taxpayer must log in to the Internet banking site with the user ID and password provided by the bank and make the payment.

Step 7: In case of successful payment, a challan will be displayed containing the CIN, the payment details and the name of the bank through which the electronic payment was made. After the TDS payment, you must submit your TDS return.
